I must make a correction to my District 2 BOE debate analysis based on new information I have received.
When I was writing the post, I reached out to the Stevens Forest Elementary School PTA to confirm Larry Pretlow’s membership status. At the time, they stated that he was not on their membership roster, and according to their attendance records, he had never attended a meeting. I wrote my post to reflect this information.
However, some time after my post was published, the SFES PTA became aware of a Facebook post where Mr. Pretlow disputed this information and showed proof of his $10 online payment to the SFES PTA in October 2019. The PTA looked further into it, and they discovered that Mr. Pretlow had indeed paid online for a membership in October 2019; however, at that time, the PTA’s leadership was going through a transition, and as a result, no one recorded his membership in the roster. They contacted me today to give me this corrected information. At my request, they did confirm a second time that their records show he has never attended a meeting. I have updated the post to reflect this new information.
I regret this error. My opinions of people, and my interpretations of their words and actions, are just that – opinion. However, I want to be accurate in presenting basic facts about folks. I offer my sincere apologies to Mr. Pretlow.
